Even
though there are many people who understand the value and importance
of using testing kits for your pools, some of these same people also
do not understand exactly how to go about making sure that the pool
is tested properly.
There are a few different chemical levels that need to be tested for
on a regular basis. These chemical levels include pH, chlorine, total
Alakalinity and Calcium hardness. While there may be other items you
will want to test for, these are the ones that absolutely should be
tested on a regular basis. Regular testing ensures a healthy pool.
If you have a pool in your backyard, it is a good rule of thumb to
use testing kits check chlorine levels about 2-3 times each week. Commercial
or public pool owners are generally required to check and record these
levels at least once an hour.
Testing kits are available in all the same places where pool chemicals
are purchases. Almost all kits include detailed instructions for use
and how to interpret the results.
