Spa covers are not just to keep the hot tub covered while its not being used. The other benefits are that they keep debris out of the water, insulate the hot tub so the water stays hot, help with chemical retention, and can offer a safer environment by preventing accidents. Most spas come with a cover, but cover mates and cover lifters are available to make taking the cover on and off easy.
