Many people do not realize the importance of things like safety pool covers until it is much too late. Unfortunately, drowning is one of the leading causes of death for children under five years old. It’s a fact that many of these drowning could have been prevented with something as simple as a pool cover.

These covers are made for all sizes and shapes of pools. They usually are able to fit snugly over the lip of an above ground pool, or lay flat over top an in-ground pool.

But, parents should not simply assume that just because they have safety pool covers that there is no need to worry about anything else. The fact of the matter is that the more safety items you can have around a pool, the better off you and your children will be.

For example, safety pool covers are made even safer if you have a proper fence around the pool that discourages unsupervised children from entering into the area. Doing so greatly decreases the risk of some unfortunate incident happening.

However, perhaps the most important thing to remember is that even all the safety pool covers in the world should not be relied upon completely. As parents, is your responsibility to pay as much attention to your kids as possible – especially when around water.
