There
are still propane pool heaters that are available on the market, but
the recent trend is moving away from these kids of heaters and is instead
moving closer to other types of heaters.
For example, even though propane pool heaters have been around for
a while, not as many people are buying them now as are buying solar
heaters.
There are a few reasons for this. One of the major reasons is simply
the fact that these propane-powered heaters cost more to run. Whereas
a solar heater basically doesn’t cost anything to operate, a propane
heater can cost quite a bit. Because propane can run out fairly quickly,
it could take a lot of propane to continually make sure that the pool
is being properly heated.
Another problem that some people have with the propane heaters is that
there is a smell associated with them. Sometimes the smell can be quite
strong while other times it is barely noticeable. But, either way, it
is something that is a possibility.
So propane pool heaters can be a good purchase as far as being able
to keep the pool warm, but you should be ready to spend a good deal
of money to keep it running.
