A
pool solar heater will significantly reduce heating costs for any swimming
pool. Both are cost-competitive for either gas or heat pump pool heaters.
A solar heater reduces yearly operating costs and is the most cost-effective
use of solar energy in any climate.
A solar pool heater usually includes the following:
• Solar collector - this is how the energy is collected and circulated
to the pool water.
• Filter - this removes detritus before sending the water through
the collector.
• Pump - this pushes the pool water through the filter and the
collector.
• Flow control valve - this is an element that sometimes diverts
water through the collector
A pool solar heater just makes sense because it will quickly pay for
itself. Though it will not be able to generate as much energy on stormy
or overcast days or during winter months, so you might have to use a
conventional gas heater to make up the difference. But a solar heater
will still provide a goodly amount of "free" pool heat.
