Pool slides are a definite crowd-pleaser in any swimming pool, but must be professionally installed to prevent people from getting hurt on them. The pool must be deep enough and the pool deck big enough to accommodate any kind of slide. Even the smallest slide can use up to eight feet of deck for proper installation.

Spiral or corkscrew pool slides take up less space, but still require precise anchoring to the concrete within or below the deck. In some areas, slide construction is regulated or even prohibited by municipal building codes. The specifics of local building codes and the pool-to-deck ratio where the slide will be located should be obtained from an experienced builder.

They can be inflatable, or made from faux rock or fiberglass and coated for maximum slippery-ness. Whatever style is chosen, pool slides should be installed and inspected by an experienced professional before being used.
