Pool
safety products include any equipment already on your pool or nearby
your pool that is made to prevent and/or lessen potential dangers.
To create a safe pool environment, it is wise to consider the following:
• It is smart and safe to have the best possible safety cover
installed to prevent a child or animal from falling into your pool.
•The wise pool owner also has approved flotation devices readily
available, as well as a phone nearby. (Floating pool toys are not
necessarily approved flotation devices and should not be considered
a lifejacket - check manufacturing labels to be sure.)
• To a lesser degree, sunscreen and sunblock with UV-ray blockers
are also considered a vital safety product. Small children, especially,
should receive applications of sunscreen at intervals recommended
on the label of the product.
• Pool chemicals are also a form of pool safety products. Without
the correct level of chemicals, your pool could grow algae, bacteria,
and other microorganisms dangerous to your health. Chemical applications
to your pool's water should be closely and regularly monitored. Also,
as another safety measure, chemicals should be stored somewhere dry,
cool, and locked to ensure no animals or children can access them.
