Pool lighting and accessories

There are a variety of pool lighting and accessories that can create the pool atmosphere that you most desire. Here are a few examples of items you may wish to include in your pool:

• Floating lights – these are excellent for setting the mood for a backyard BBQ or dinner party for 2. Floating candles or floating solar lights are both great options. These are best (especially the candles) when no one is swimming.

• Fountains – there are a variety of fountains on the market. Floating solar fountains are an excellent options, but there are also some excellent options that have a variety of spray patterns that you can choose from. These are great both for setting a romantic mood at night or a fun and playful mood during the day. Pair the fountains with excellent underwater lighting for great effects.

• Floating lounger – if you want to create an atmosphere of relaxation, then floating lounge chairs are a must. Look for ones with a drink holder for the ultimate in lazy pool lounging.

• Underwater lights – these are, perhaps, the most basic of pool lighting and accessories, but they are also very important. Keep your pool lit from beneath the water creates interesting effects, casting strange glows and ripples on surrounding trees and buildings. They also make a night swim safer. Look for ones with color options – some will even continually change the color lenses over the lights, creating an environment as close to a gentle disco pool as you can get.

•Above pool light – in all honesty, if you have a mix of floating lights, underwater lights, and above pool lights, you are going to be able to create just about any type of night atmosphere that you choose. Look for one with color lenses so that you can really change the look of your pool.

• Basketball, volleyball, and more – to create an atmosphere of fun, add a slide (make sure that your pool meets the safety requirements for a slide, first). A basketball hoop and/or a volleyball net are also fun features that family and friends can really enjoy.

The above are just some of the pool lighting and accessories that are available for backyard swimming pools. Before you decide which ones you want, think about what kind of atmosphere you want. Think about if you want a fun and playful atmosphere or a romantic one, etc. The best accessories are ones that allow you versatility.
