Great
pool landscaping requires much forethought. It is important to figure
out in advance not just which plants and flowers will best suit your
pool environment, but multiple other things, as well. Here are some
things that you should consider when planning out your pool landscaping
– remember, it is not only about the plants:
• Privacy – trees, fences, and screens can be very useful
for keeping your pool area private. Incorporating these into your
overall landscaping plan will keep your pool and its bathers away
from the prying eyes of neighbors and passersbys.
• Debris – while trees can be great for privacy reasons,
they can lead to excess debris in the pool. Make sure that when you
plant trees or other plants, you consider the leaves they may shed
or other debris they may be the cause of. Try to keep this debris
away from and out of the pool. A cover is key.
• Safety – a fence is not simply great for privacy, but
to keep children, pets, and neighbors out of the pool. For safety
measures, you do not want anyone to be able to access the pool unsupervised.
Proper lighting is also a safety feature.
• Lighting – it is great for safety, and it is also great
for setting the mood. Pool lighting, both underwater and floating
lights, can be great for nighttime BBQs and parties, even if no one
is swimming. Lighting up nearby trees and casting shadows, et-cetera,
can make night-swimming a more mystical, beautiful experience.
These are just a few of the things that you should consider in addition
to foliage when mapping out the plans for your pool landscaping.
