It’s
a tragedy how many children die each year because of faulty pool fencing
or not pool fencing at all. Unfortunately, the possibility of drowning
is perhaps one of the most dangerous things about not having a fence
and many children each year die because of this.
Few know, but it is a fact that drowning is the number one cause of
death of children under five years old in the states of California,
Arizona and Florida. Even more, drowning is the second most prevalent
cause of death in a dozen other states.
According to government-gathered statistics, for every one death in
a pool among children, there are 11 near death experiences. Many of
these near-death occurrences end up causing brain damage or other forms
of bodily harm.
Because drowning can occur so quickly, there is very little time to
react at all. In fact, even if parents are carefully watching their
children, this may not be enough if there is a pool nearby.
For all these reasons, it is important to have pool fencing that will
greatly decrease the chance for any kind of a tragedy to occur.
