The
use of pool chemicals is unavoidable if you want for your pool to be
clean and pleasant to swim in. But there are certainly some precautions
that must be followed when it comes to handling these items.
When you have small children who could be exposed to these chemicals,
it is best to be honest with the kids and explain to them why the chemicals
can be dangerous. But in addition to communicating with them extra precautions
should be taken.
• Lock the chemicals up – When the chemicals are not in
use, lock them away in a high cabinet or somewhere where there is a
lock. Doing this will allow you to ensure that any kids who are in the
area will not be at risk of being exposed to the chemicals.
• Show the kids what you do – The best way to teach kids
about the dangers of chemicals is to thoroughly explain to them why
they might be dangerous. Show a good example to the kids by being very
careful with the items when you are working at the pool. They will see
this and understand that the pool chemicals should not be messed with.
By showing kids the proper example and locking the pool chemicals up
somewhere where the kids cannot access it, you will be able to better
ensure that safety will reign at the pool.
