First came the swimming pool, not long after came pool accessories. There are several accessories available with which to enhance the use and enjoyment of your swimming pool. Most accessories fall into one of these main categories:

• Safety should be the first priority. Some of the safety devices on the market include pool alarms, fences and covers. Pool chemicals can also be considered safety devices as they keep the pool water healthy and safe.
• Aesthetic elements are often added to the pool area. These encompass things such as rock formations, landscaping, fountains, tile, lights and painted concrete.
• Outdoor furnishings for a pool area can include lounge chairs, tables and other comfortable seating arrangements.
• Toys are pool accessories that make pool time more fun. Some examples include slides, diving boars, inflatable lounges, balls, diving sticks and rings, motorboats and squirting toys.

It is easy to become overwhelmed by the multitude of pool accessories available. Recognizing the different categories of these accessories can help to prioritize the safety devices as most important.
