Buying
leak & patch kits is kind of like buying automobile insurance. You
hope you never need to use it, but if the time comes when you need it,
you’ll sure be glad that you have it.
It is important that pools are able to stand strong without patches
as long as they can so you should try to always buy quality pools in
the first place. But if you are unable to find a pool that is able to
last without patches, it is a great idea to have a kit.
Typically these kits simply include a number of patches that will fit
over different sizes of holes. Although it is easier and more effective
to patch very small holes, most kits also include patches for larger
holes as well.
When leaks are patched, however, it takes a real effort to make sure
the patches stay in place because the bigger leaks have a tendency to
move things out of its way.
You can buy the kits at any pool supply store. Although they can be
fairly cheap, you may want to consider how much your pool is worth to
you before you simply buy the cheapest kit available. If you are truly
concerned about your pool, spending just a few extra dollars on a nicer
kit will likely be a very good investment.
Leak & patch kits may or may not be necessary, but when the time
comes for needing one, if you already have it you will be glad you do.
